Who (or what) am I?

David (IPA: da.vid or da.vΙͺd) is:

  • A robotics/AI researcher from the Caribbean 🏝️ .

  • A postdoc with the Intelligent Robot Lab at Brown University.

  • Graduate of the USF (University of South Florida) and UVI (University of the Virgin Islands).

What am I passionate about?

My research intersects robotics and AI; I work extensively on robot planning for meaningful purposes β€” in particular, domestic and service robotics for human-centered environments.

I am keenly interested in how domain knowledge at the level of human language and understanding can be designed for long-term robot autonomy.

To realize this, I envision robotic systems that exploit existing approaches in task and motion planning (TAMP), classical AI planning, and generalizable approaches such as object-level planning and semantic reasoning.
